SHANTHI SANDESHA TRUST is a public Charitable Trust with registration No. 4, at pages 47-66 volume 120 of book IV of 2000-01. It is the unit of Ursuline Franciscan Congregation, which was started in Mangalore in the year 1887. Ursuline Franciscan Congregation was decentralized into provinces in 1997 for administrative purpose. SHANTHI SANDESHA TRUST is functioning under Mangalore Province and carrying on educational, charitable, socio-medico mission activities in Kerala, Karnataka, Goa and Maharastra.

MISSION: To restore human dignity of individuals and communities through the process of

Empowerment.

Goal and Objectives of the organization:

  • To sensitize people about the situation and build their capacities to respond proactively towards change
  • To promote, strengthen and monitor systems that will ensure the rights of vulnerable groups
  • To Protect the rights of children through individual and community based programmes
  • To provide individual, family and community bases services to partners
  • To promote preventive and curative health services to the deprived section of the society
  • To strengthen local governance through education on Civil rights of the Stakeholders
  • To pilot innovative programmes to build the knowledge base on working with individuals and communities.
  • To build networks and convergence for participatory management of programmes and enhance public private partnership.

Administration

Shatnhi Sandesha Trust has 12A and FCRA. Most of the programmes are implemented through the voluntary contribution of donors and organizational funds. Trust has a governing body for the overall administration of affairs and an advisory commission for evaluation of the existing programmes and taking up new programmes in any thrust areas. At local level there are advisory representing the staff and local people who see to the new area of work. Quarterly and annual evaluations are done for the effective implementation of the programme and building strong administration.
